Nuku Photo Festival

Nuku Photo Festival Ghana is the country’s first festival for photographic encounters, exchanges, and story-telling. It brings together both local and international photographers and visual artists. It offers a space for artistic explorations and exchanges. The participating artists – both established ones and young talents – have a unique opportunity to share their work with an international audience and their peers – with the vision to inspire and be inspired, challenge and be challenged. The Festival includes a variety of events – exhibitions, art talks, conferences, portfolio reviews, artist-in-residency, and more – in Accra, Tamale, Wa and Kumasi. DAK’ART BIENNALE 2018

El Anatsui is a Ghanaian sculptor and artist.He has drawn particular international attention for his iconic “bottle-top installations”, distinctive large-scale assemblages of thousands of pieces of aluminium sourced from alcohol recycling stations and sewn together with copper wire. These wall sculptures draw connections between consumption, waste and the environment.
